Day 1 and 2

Our First 2 days.

Along the way, mummy and daddy tried to find a free camping site about 5kms south of Barcaldine, which they found on a special map. We secretly think that some people must have copied mummy and daddy's special map, because when we got there, after going along a dirt track - it was FULL! And mummy and daddy had to turn around and find another camping spot. Us boys and Chloe were starting to get cranky now, because we were so looking forward to stopping somewhere and setting up our caravan.

We checked out some roadside camp spots, but they had lots of other people staying there, so mummy and daddy decided to stay in a nice caravan spot in Ilfracombe. We keep asking mummy and daddy if we are getting close to Darwin - and they say NO!

We got through our first night - us kids were awake at 6.30am - and we were all BUSTING to go to the toilet. Mummy and Daddy didn't want to get out of bed - i think they were really cold - we could only see their heads poking out of their covers!

We travelled to Longreach, and then onto a place called Winton. Lucky Mummy was really smart and she booked a spot for us in the caravan park. Everyone looked squished together. Mummy and Daddy said that we have to be good, and not toooo noisy in case we annoy the old people in the caravan park - but Daddy took us for a walk around the caravan park before dinner, and we saw that there were lots of other kids our age staying in caravans too!

Mummy and Daddy took us to places in Winton like museums, but we secretly thought they were boring, and we were a bit naughty. ooops. We did go to 2 really FUN places - The Musical Fence where we could bash some old things REALLY loudly with metal and rubber pipes. It was so much fun. We also loved the Truck Museum - we all found our favourite trucks. Here our some more photos of our day.
